Chapter Philanthropy and Service

"To prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served."  - Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha

Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. We are partnered with the Zeta Foundation, NFL, American Cancer Society, Bright Pink, and with local places to fundraise and spread awareness against breast cancer.

Service and love are some of the greatest values instilled in ZTA women. This past semester, we held a fundraiser for chocolate covered strawberries for our philanthropy. We also held a personal prayer event for survivors in our community. To love is to serve and we believe that philanthropy is more than just money and recognition. Having contacts to those in our community with or impacted by breast cancer allows us to support them emotionally and develop relationships with them. Our philanthropy is personal and will touch all who serve, participate, or are served. We make every effort to spread awareness and education to help people do preventative care early. Thinking Pink, passing out care cards, holding events, and passing out ribbons is just some of the few ways we encourage people to do so. Early detection helps to greatly increases survival rates in cancer patients.

I am immensely grateful that Beta Omega chose me to be their Philanthropy Chair. I have devoted my entire life to serving others and have so much passion for loving people. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a support system for survivors, patients, and their families and friends through my work in oncology and women’s clinics, church, and ZTA. I love our philanthropy for so many reasons but especially because our chapter gets to uniquely serve on a personal level, without sacrificing our faith, within our chapter and community. Also, we get to partner with wonderful, nationally recognized organizations to raise substantial amounts of money towards our cause.Thinking Pink is more than just a cute saying to raise awareness; it’s a lifestyle and lifelong mission of service, devotion, and passion to the “right, the good, and the true.”
We are so proud to Think Pink as a chapter and are so excited to share our hearts of service and philanthropy with you.
